The Open Sky Method is a free self-help course. We collect as little as we can, we don’t show ads, and we never sell or share your information for marketing.

What we keep

Only if you sign up for the practice emails:

• your email address
• the time of day you chose for emails, and your time zone, so they arrive when you asked
• which session you last finished, so we send the right next email
• your answers to the one-tap “how many loops did you catch?” buttons in those emails

If you turn on practice reminders on a device, we keep that device’s push address (a random link from your browser’s push service, not your name or number), the time of day and time zone you chose, your pace, and which session you last finished.

If you don’t sign up for either, we keep nothing that identifies you. Your progress, the name you give the guide and the worries you park are saved in your own browser.

Visit statistics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and to see which pages and course steps are used, for example how many people start Session 1, how many finish it, and which practices get used. That tells us what’s helping and what to fix.

• Advertising features, ad personalisation and Google signals are turned off.
• Google Analytics shortens IP addresses before storing them, so they can’t be used to locate you precisely.
• If you visit from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Google Analytics doesn’t load at all, so nothing is sent to Google about your visit.
• We never send anything you type or say in a session. Events only carry things like a session number, a practice name or your chosen pace.

Any ad or tracker blocker will stop Google Analytics, and the course works exactly the same without it.

What you say in a session

When you answer a question in a session, what you type or say is sent through our server, in real time, to AI providers (via OpenRouter) so the guide can reply and adjust what comes next. The name you give the guide, a short summary of your earlier answers and the session step go with it. We only use providers that don’t keep your words or train on them. We don’t store your answers ourselves, they aren’t written to our logs on purpose, and they’re never added to your email record. You agree to this on the screen before Session 1 starts.

If an answer mentions suicide, self-harm or being in danger, it isn’t sent to an AI model at all: the guide replies straight away with crisis lines.

Who helps us run it

• Cloudflare hosts the site and stores the email list.
• Amazon Web Services (SES) sends the emails.
• OpenRouter routes session answers to the AI model and voice service.
• Google Analytics counts visits and course steps, as described above.

Like any website, these services see technical details such as your IP address. We use your IP address only to stop abuse, by limiting how many requests one address can make in an hour.

Deleting your information

Every email has a one-tap unsubscribe link, which stops all email straight away. To have your record deleted completely, email practice@openskymethod.com and we’ll remove it.

Age

The course is for adults 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
